Why do you answer questions?

What compels me to answer questions now doesn’t actually line up with my ultimate goal for doing so.

And it’s the gap between those two motivations that signifies my growth process.

Right now I scan through questions until I see one that connects to something I’ve thought or written already—something I have existing content to summarize and link back to.

But my goal in responding is really to have open discussions and learn to communicate better.

I don’t want to just survive on thoughts I’ve had before. I want to throw myself into new and unfamiliar territory where I can then spin and grasp for the best combined wisdom of . . . potentially everyone.

I don’t want to answer because I know; I want to respond so I can learn.
