What is the greatest persuasion tactic to use?

Authentic consistency (or consistent authenticity).


The short-term problem with being/showing exactly what you are/have is it’s not a tactic at all. It never persuades the disinterested who won’t connect with your opinions and values.

But authenticity over time is what draws all the right people and prospects.

So that’s where the second part of our (non-)tactic comes in.


Show up. Don’t stop showing up.

Share your honest experience and understanding, but consider objections. Admit mistakes and short-comings. Show how and where you’re getting better and better.

There’s nothing anyone looks forward to more in this age of attention-as-currency than hearing from those we’ve come to trust, connected with, and (as Seth Godin puts it) would miss if they were gone.
